Hi I'm new to KORG, I'v been an avid guitar/bass player for over 45 yrs but never had a home piano to record myself. However I have 2 digital studios, a KORG A’01, an ANALOG Xpander and a Mackie Onyx 1624, At the moment I'm working with Bass lines and want to have a home studio, I've used KORG A’01 (?), I could not find any Korg books, any help would be appreciated I'm a bit of a noob at this, but I have a recommendation. If you're looking to get into the world of home recording, there's nothing better to get started with than a basic computer and a USB microphone. You can get a laptop for like $600 and a mic for like $100 or so. It's not a complete studio, but it's an inexpensive way to get started. You can buy complete solutions for a lot less than it'd cost to own a decent home recording studio. So yes, get a computer and a mic, but don't buy into the whole "record on a computer" idea. There's an amazing world out there and there's no reason why you should limit yourself. If I were you I would get a Synsonics DS40 kit (Desktop/rack version) it's similar to the A-01 but smaller and cheaper. And if you want something a little more advanced you can get a synsonics Soundcraft STG-3b (midi-over-usb) which is essentially the same thing but more expensive but with dedicated midi and audio in/out. Any decent keyboard should work fine for you. I'd recommend a midi keyboard because of the features it offers and the extra control buttons. Hope this helps, and good luck with your projects.
